Landscape Lighting
Stay outside after the sun goes down
Warm light, safer steps, and a patio that still feels like a place to sit at night.
Overview
How the space gets used
If you’ve been picturing evenings that run past sunset, lighting is how we get there. Steps you can see, an entry that feels welcoming, and a yard that still feels like yours when it’s dark.
We layer it. Path and step lights so you can walk. Wall washing and grazing so you can read the stone. Uplighting on a specimen tree. Moonlighting from the branches for a softer pool of light. Accents on water, a sculpture, or a gate column.
Brass or copper fixtures, warm LEDs (usually 2700K to 3000K), and careful shielding so you’re not glaring into windows or the neighbor’s house. Voltage-drop math and home-run layouts keep brightness even on long runs.
Timers, astronomical clocks, and app controls can trim runtime and make seasonal changes easier. Retrofits often start with the transformer and lamps. New work lets us run conduit while the beds are open.
What we pay attention to
- Path, architecture, safety, and feature light planned as separate layers.
- Brass and copper fixtures that handle temperature swings.
- Voltage-drop calculations and buried conduit where you’ll be glad we did it later.
How we work
From the first walk to the last
You’ll always know what happens next. We walk the property, make a plan, then build it.
- 01
A night plan
We think in zones: walking, the house, safety, and the things worth highlighting.
- 02
Transformer and load
The right size, voltage drop managed, and a place you can actually get to for service.
- 03
Install and aim
Conduit where it’s worth it, solid connections, and final aiming that accounts for how plants will grow.

FAQ
Questions we hear a lot
Plain answers, so you can plan without guessing.
Is LED lighting worth it outdoors? +
Yes. Less power, longer lamp life, and more consistent color than a lot of the old halogen systems.
Can you retrofit my old lighting system? +
Often we can upgrade transformers, fixtures, and lamps a piece at a time. We’ll look at what’s worth keeping.
What is moonlighting vs. uplighting? +
Moonlighting puts fixtures high in a tree, aiming down through the branches. Soft, dappled light. Uplighting grazes trunks and canopies from below. We use both so paths stay safe and the light stays soft.
Do you install smart timers or Wi-Fi controls? +
Yes. Astronomical timers, photocells, and a lot of Wi-Fi or hub systems can handle on/off and the seasons. We’ll match the controls to how hands-on you want to be, and how reliable the outdoor signal is.

These often go together
We usually plan lighting with these, so drainage, utilities, and layout don’t fight each other later.
